AFRICAN ROCK AND BURMESE PYTHON PAGE!

Here are some of our Green Patternless Rock Python Breeders. The large female on the left is a Striped Phase Green Rock and the adult male on the right is a Completely Patternless Phase Green Rock. In the upper right of this picture a female Het Green can be seen.

Normal African Rock Pythons and normal Burmese Pythons are also just as rewarding to keep and to raise as are the rarer and more expensive High-End pattern and color Morphs available in both species. Normals are also just as pretty as any given morph in our opinion and are no different in terms of temperment and/or habits. If you are a lover of pythons there is just no good reason not to have these in your collection.

We have many many "normal" african Rock Pythons and "normal" Burmese Pythons in our own collection. Primarily we have devoted a LOT of time, energy and yes, money, to acquire many different bloodlines of both species with the sole intention of using them as "Outbreeding Breeders" to breed with our pure morphs so as to produce all-new, "Out Bred" morph stock and thus create much hardier and genetically diverse morph gene pools within only our own exclusive colony. This is a very lengthy and intricate project that will take well over a decade before the full effect has been achieved. It involves breeding each morph with several different, unrelated normals, creating double and triple hets for each morph group, raising the different outbred offspring and then breeding them to yet again unrelated double and triple het, outbred offspring.

The result will be the most genetically diverse morphs on the planet. Morphs that are not highly susceptible to upper respitory infections and only prone to contract seemingly common illnesses due to weakened immunity systems. We theorize that most of the burmese in circulation today are severely INBRED and are destined to die early, untimely deaths due to their weakened immuno-systems due directly to reckless inbreeding by careless, thoughtless, irresponsible breeders only trying to churn out as many morphs as they possibly can in the shortest period of time. This way of thinking, with NO regard for the snakes or the snake's future health and the customer's future grief is just unconscionable.

Throughout this page we will post pictures of most of our "normal" Burmese and African Rock Pythons. All of them, like all of our other snakes are cherished pets first and foremost. We love them all equally and they all have names.

African Rock Pythons are one of the most widely misunderstood snake species kept in captivity today. They are a very highly intelligent python species and they deserve genuine respect and as the smarter one in the equation it is up to us to be understanding when they appear to behave badly. Unfortunately many herpers get their first rock python and have heard all the horror stories of how "Untameable" and how "Mean" they "All are" and then when they experience a rock just being a rock they buy into these falsehoods and chalk it up to "A typical mean rock". But this is not the case 9 times out of 10. Most of the time, the VAST majority of the time, the rock just needs time to figure you out and to build a trust for you. Granted, many rocks are not easily won over. And few people are willing to take the possible bloody bites often required in gaining their trust. But the key to having tame, easy going rocks is to gain their trust of you. Many herpers don't realize this, but this can be accomplished without even handling them. Rocks are incredibly smart and they will watch you and yes, even study you from afar.

They have very good vision and they CAN recognize you by sight from an impressive distance. If you interact with your timid, defensive rock from a respectable, non-threatening distance and if they are able to smell you and see you and be fed, without being forcibly handled!, then they will figure out on their own that you are no threat to them. Once this is accomplished the safe handling won't be too far off. Just learn to read their body language. Snakes of all species will always tell you what they are feeling. when the rock trusts you enough to be touched he wil tell you with a relaxed posture, a lack of high-alert in his demeanor. You can start with small touches. If he respondes in a panicy way then back off and try this again later. You don't want to spook him or traumatize him in any way. Once a rock views you as a real threat to him it could take months and even years to win him back over. And sometimes.... maybe never.
